Ronnie has been the Campus Pastor at the University of Arkansas for 31 years, opening up opportunities for students to discover and explore their leadership skills through Chi Alpha.  Ronnie studied Music Education at Hendrix College and certified to teach K – 12.  He not only leads XA at the U of A, but has also helped launch 11 different Chi Alpha programs throughout Arkansas, 7  Chi Alpha Groups in other states and 3 Chi Alpha Groups in Bolivia, South America. He also currently serves as the Interim XA Director for the state of Kentucky.

Ronnie has a genuine passion for the lost and inspires /equips others to share their faith.  He brings a freshness to the claims of Christ to an ever-changing collegiate population. There are over 100 former Chi Alpha students from the Hoover’s ministry who have been in full time vocational ministry as Pastors, Youth Pastors, Music Pastors and Missionaries.

Dana graduated from the U of A  with a Business Marketing degree, met and married a flaming evangelist the following year, and entered into a lifelong adventure in ministry. She is an Ordained A/G Minister.  She shares Ronnie’s passion for students and keeps things organized behind the scenes. Dana serves as the House Pastor, Office Administrator, and “GAP” Pastor with a focus on helping students through major life transitions – moving from high school to college, then on to real life after college graduation.

Ronnie & Dana have been married for 37 years and have four children: Courtney (husband Mack Clements, granddaughters Gemma & Mackena), Ryan  (wife Amanda, grandsons Zeke & Jett)) , Caleb (wife Tasha, grandson Lance), & Josh (wife Marisa).   As parents, Life Group Leaders, and Directors of Chi Alpha, their life stays busy. But if you really want to get to know them, head outdoors. The Hoovers can usually be found caving, repelling, white water canoeing, playing racquetball and water skiing/tubing on a regular basis. Or just listen at any Razorback sporting event – you’ll probably hear Ronnie calling the Hogs!
